The Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti (SBAS) is a Hindutva organisation founded and presided over by long-time RSS activist Dinanath Batra. It has a sister organisation the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas. Its aim, according to Batra, is to change the face of Indian education, by removing content the organisation deems "anti-national" or hurtful to "the feelings of Hindus". The SBAS pushes for the presentation of Hindu mythology as historical fact rather than literary work produced in various historical contexts.
The SBAS led high profile campaigns involving changing the school curriculum, stopping sex-education in Indian schools, and getting books and essays withdrawn by publishers and removed from syllabuses. Some details of these SBAS campaigns can be found on the entry for Dinanath Batra.
