Babubhai Bokhiria was Gujarat BJP Water Resources and Agriculture Minister sentenced in June 2013 to three years imprisonment for a Rs. 54-crore illegal limestone mining scam. Bokhiria retained his post in Narendra Modi's government following the conviction. A Gujarat sessions court stayed Bokhiria's conviction in July 2013. He was acquitted in late 2014 after the BJP came to power at the centre.
